Get ready for your close up!
Clients are always asking me what they need to do to get ready for their upcoming photo session, so I’ve decided to share the info with all of you!
First of all, preparation begins about a week before your shoot. Don’t tan in the natural sun or in a tanning bed for at least a week prior to the session. You don’t want any prominent tan lines or skin peeling.
Also on the list of what not to do the week before your photo shoot is not having your eyebrows waxed. It tends to leave puffy red marks, and in some cases scabbing, yuck! Not cute for photos.
For the two days leading up to the session, make sure to exfoliate your skin and apply moisturizer afterwards. This will help eliminate any rough or dry patches.
Try and get a good night sleep the night before; nobody wants puffy eyes in their photos.
Please have neat nails! This is one of my big peeves. If you are planning on wearing nail polish, make sure that it is fresh for the shoot. Chipped nail polish is a big pain to photoshop.
If you are having your hair and makeup done by our makeup artist, make sure you wear a loose button up top for easy removal when you are done. Also, bringing in any pictures or magazine clippings of what you might want done to your hair and makeup is really helpful to the makeup artist.
I know that some of these may seem like common sense, but you’d be surprised at the amount of clients that come into their session completely unprepared. So follow these simple tips and your photo shoot will be a breeze.
