Women's Survivor Alliance - Cancer Survivors

I recently had the honor of being a part of a great organization, the Women's Survivor Alliance. This organization focuses on creating a community for women survivors of all types of cancer. They have undertaken a national call to action to address the burdens of survivorship issues on women, their families, and by extension, society as a whole. They provide three main "ribbons" of support, their annual convention, the WSA website, and Survivor Bootcamps. Each of these types of support provide education, motivation and friendship. As per Alanna Rose Photography, we were honored to work with them to help create their first annual Survivors Calendar. This calendar featured 12 fearless ladies that have fought cancer. Each page contains there picture and a quick blurb about what helped them get through their fight. After meeting all of these ladies, I feel truly touched by each one of them.

On top of shooting and designing their calendar, I was at their first annual convention. They had amazing speakers and guests including Olympic Gold Medalist Shannon Miller, Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton, Reality TV Star Tabitha Coffey ad Country Music Star Martina McBride. What an amazing line-up for their first year! I can't wait to see what is in line for next year!

So shooting with all of the celebrities this past weekend was only one part of what made the convention so amazing. More than that, I was touched by so many of these strong, fearless, survivors. These women have had so much adversity, and each one of them had big smiles and a great outlook on everything. I can't even begin to tell you how awesome they were.

We really enjoyed working with the Women's Survivor Alliance over the past few months, and look forward to a long relationship with them!
